Kingsley’s Adventure received average or positive reviews from critics.

The game starts with a punch–and–judy–like cutscene explaining that the Fruit Kingdom is under attack by Bad Custard who transforms the four knights into wretched evil monsters. With not much choice, the king and queen begin training Kingsley, the brave fox who wished to become a knight by firstly collecting the gear necessary to become one.

The gameplay takes place in different intriguing levels where you get to fight enemies by using a sword and a crossbow (both being upgradeable during the adventure).

Our hero must travel from the castle to Sea Town, Poorluck VillageRosary Village, Skull Island and Aphasia – fighting one boss in each level.

Bosses of each level in order:

  1. Sea Town | Captain Gallagher
  2. Poorluck Village | Snuff the Dragon
  3. Rosary Village | Tim
  4. Aphasia | Reggie
  5. Skull Island | Bad Custard

Many people might not remember this game as the reception this game got was quite average and nowhere near as recognizable as many other Playstation titles.

Kingsley’s Adventure brings me back memories from my childhood when I had first got into gaming. Whenever I replay it I feel nostalgic to the peaceful atmospheric music and the simple charm of exploring, solving puzzles and fighting crooked animals. As a kid I found the game disturbing, because of the many respawning spiders

in the very first dungeon you encounter and the gloomy nature of the levels. I think that the bosses were well executed and it still manages to give the player a certain accomplishment after defeating them.

Now I might look back and think this is nothing more than a Zelda clone, but I think it still withstands as a solid action-adventure game, and would definitely recommend it to any Playstation hobbyists out there!
